There are three main areas to consider:-

Stamina -
having increased stamina allows players to have a good work rate and keep a high standard of performance over a long period.
Strength - having increased strength can help bowlers improve their speed, batsman to hit the ball harder and fielders to run and throw quicker.
Mobility - being mobile allows a player to twist, turn, and perform the many actions required in cricket. Exercises can stretch muscles and provide protection against injury and allow the body to stay in good condition.


Physical fitness refers to the overall physical condition of each person. This can range from the peak of human --

fitness to extreme illness or injury. For most sport participants, their level of physical fitness fluctuates acording to the amount of exercise they tke and their general state of health. In each case, the level of fitness required is determined by what the individual wants from their sport participation. Coaches need to be aware of the differing motives of their participants and tailor any fitness preparation to suit these motives.

Role of Fitness :-

Improves performance- "As fatigue develops, skill deteriorates".

Fitness helps prevent injuries.

A fitter player has a longer career.
